Elon Musk is known as a bit of a risk taker, pushing boundaries across industries as diverse as energy, construction, and tech. And, since his 2022 acquisition of Twitter, Musk has continued testing norms and stirring up a bit of controversy – most recently, with the recent rebranding of X (formerly known as Twitter).

Here we are, in early September 2023, and X has taken yet another bold step forward by introducing…. Drum roll… job listings.

Yes, really.

And what’s more surprising? We’re quite certain that X job listings – now known as XHiring – will indeed be one giant leap forward for talent sourcing.

At this point you might be wondering how we got from cutting-edge tech to job listings. Well, Musk finds LinkedIn cringeworthy. In this regard, he’s more traditional than you might expect, accepting only resumes or bios over email. And Musk is taking his old-school approach public, vowing to make applying for jobs cool with the launch of XHiring. Verified organizations across X will soon be posting job vacancies with ease on their respective profiles – a definite win-win for employers and job seekers.

As a digital marketing professional in the talent sourcing space, I can tell you that the anticipation is palpable. Until the public release, we have only what we can glean from those few, those lucky beta testers. (Humble brag: we may have helped a few along the way!) Enterprises, recruitment marketing agencies, staffing agencies, and recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) firms alike are more than ready to give it a try. If you’re wondering why all the excitement, here are a few reasons this is a game changer:

1. Empowering Verified Organizations

Fundamentally, XHiring is grounded in the idea of empowering verified organizations. Companies that have been verified and accepted into the beta testing program, now have the ability to post job openings directly on their X profiles. This not only streamlines the hiring process – bypassing job boards, etc. – but also results in greater transparency and credibility. For job seekers, that means access to verified job opportunities from reputable companies.

2. Seamless Integration with Applicant Tracking Systems

Here’s where it starts to get interesting: XHiring isn’t just about job listings. It actually goes a step further by offering seamless integration with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and XML feeds. This allows organizations to import jobs data directly into XHiring, simplifying the process of posting and managing job listings.

3. Reasonably Affordable Access for Verified Organizations

To access the XHiring feature, an account must be verified according to platform guidelines. While this status comes with numerous privileges, X also charges a hefty subscription of $1,000 per month. This may sound a bit steep, but organizations that make it work could slash their recruitment media budget.

From X’s perspective, the subscription fee is there to ensure that only serious and legitimate organizations leverage XHiring, maintaining the quality of job listings and enhancing the experience for job seekers.

4. Enhanced Job Search and Filtering

For job seekers, XHiring promises a more targeted job search experience. With vacancies listed directly on company X profiles, candidates can search for positions using keywords, location filters, and other criteria. Job seekers are empowered to find opportunities that line up with their skills and career goals. It also means that job listings are seen by a highly-relevant audience, increasing the chances of finding those dream candidates.

5. Streamlined Application Process

XHiring allows candidates to apply for positions directly on the platform – no visits to external websites, no complex application process. Once a candidate applies, potential employers can reach out to them through X, creating a seamless and efficient channel of communication. And it can be used throughout the hiring process, meaning a better candidate and recruiter experience.

6. Beta Testing and Future Release

XHiring is currently in beta, which means it’s being tested by a limited number of users. During this period, feedback is gathered, issues are ironed out, and refinements made to ensure that the product meets both employers’ and job seekers’ expectations.

Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly when it will happen, but a general release of XHiring is expected in the near future, bringing this incredible job feature to a broader audience.

In Summary

XHiring is a game-changer. Empowering verified organizations to post job vacancies directly on their profiles, integrating with ATS systems, and offering an enhanced job search experience, XHiring is poised to revolutionize the world of recruitment. It may sound dramatic, but we believe it. A streamlined application process and direct communication between employers and job seekers, truly puts it over the top for us – as we well know, great candidate experience makes for a great employer brand, which means attracting stellar candidates. So we wait, with bated breath, to see how Musk transforms yet another industry – talent sourcing.
